Author: Mo Willems
Illustrator: Mo Willems
Publisher:  Hyperion Books for Children
Publication Date: September 14, 2010
ISBN: 978-1-4231-3308-7

Summary: This book is not like any other book that you have read. In this book, you will be immersed into the book and it will feel like the characters are talking to you. Gerald and Piggie realizes that the reader (you) is reading the book and they are very excited that they are in a book and that they are being read. Throughout the book, they have you say things such as "Banana" by putting quotation marks around the word and then laughing hysterically after the word has been said. Towards the end of the book, Piggie tells Gerald that the book is going to end soon, which upset Gerald because he does not want the book to end. The book concludes with both Piggie and Gerald telling the reader to read the book again so the book does not have to end.

Personal Statement:  This book is my personal favorite out of all the books by Mo Willems because it gets the reader involved. This is a perfect beginning reader book because it is different than any other book that I have ever read. It engages the reader in the reading and makes the reader a part of the story, which is something that you do not see a lot of children books.  If you read this book, you will find yourself laughing and enjoying the book the entire time. This is a great book for teachers to keep in their collection!
